Korean dramas are full of entertainment, with cliched yet dramatic plots Drama Online, cute and handsome male characters, both main and supporting, and always a young pretty heroine! I cannot put my finger on exactly why I react this way as the world building in the show is not objectively spectacular although the show does make an effort which is more than most Korean dramas do. I think the effort made by the show and the genre elements made already familiar by shows that came before like 49 Days” (2011) pushed the show over the top for me.

The SBS show Dr Stranger follows the life of a famous South Korean doctor brought to North Korea with his son to save Kim Il-sung’s life – but then prevented from returning. Though the number of North Koreans watching South Korean TV has reduced because of recent crackdowns, it is still possible for some – including Party officials and those with social capital – to watch them in secret. In 2012 and 2013, another South Korean drama, The King Two Hearts, which depicted the North Korean military, also attracted a following in parts of North Korea. The sets, costumes and hair were just superb for this and it was so interesting to see a Korean drama set in the not so distant past.

I’ve seen a lot of comments wishing the writer to die, and calling her a horrible writer, I hope all those people would stop acting so childish and cruel just because of a drama. Writer Nim your surprise ending is a very disappointing ending for us fans plz stop writing any more dramas that nobody will suffer anymore by watching your dramas!!!!!!!! A drama about an elite medical team, a doctor team that draws only the best doctors from each area, fights to make miracles possible and trying to fare its way amidst a power struggle shaking up the hospital.

A series of new murders that seem to have a connection have begun to emerge and the team suspects the man on the top of their wanted list. The agreement includes all distribution rights including for pay-TV, free-to-air and SVOD, and allows for broadcast as quickly as 10 minutes after the series’ initial Korean telecast. Lee takes on two roles – a university lecturer of Korean art in the present day and 16th century historical figure Shin Saimdang. These comments are in stark contrast with more common depictions of Korean drama shoots and many prior instances of on-set conflicts.

There was also some progress made on the urban fantasy end of Korean dramas although somewhat slower. In many case, Korean dramas tended to walk the line by creating hybrid urban fantasy shows. Another more current trend is to make stop-gap” urban fantasy shows which introduce supernatural elements as a gimmick into a standard Korea drama. You can see that, as time goes by and more and more shows introduce supernatural elements, the Korean audience is becoming more accepting of the urban fantasy genre.
